Kendra Carr grew up surrounded by the Manistee National Forest and the aisles of her parents’ convenience store.
A graduate of Cottey College and Western Michigan University, she started her career at a housing agency, working in eviction prevention and re-housing.
She then transitioned to radio, first working for a top 40 radio station before moving onto work as the local host of All Things Considered for Interlochen Public Radio. She currently hosts Morning Edition on KRCC in Southern Colorado.
A longtime actress, She has performed on stages throughout West Michigan. During a recent span in New York, she studied scenes under Jaclyn Biskup, Red-nose clown with Karin Light Joy, and additional performance classes.
When she’s not on stage, she can be found in the audience or reading at home with her cat.
